The seven wards were divided into twenty two polygons according to the catchment area of the selected canals and 100 teams were distributed amongst them. For better management and coordination, two hubs were established in the north and south of the city – Municipal Stadium in the south and St. Mary’s school in the north. Students had to assemble at each of these hubs. After a small briefing and doubt clearing session on the smart tools (Moblie apps), they were dropped off at their assigned polygons. They were accompanied by a Kudumbashree volunteer who were familiar with the locality. Over the course of next two days, the students conducted drain mapping and conducted household surveys in their respective wards. On 9 th December after the Survey, the students proceeded to Kerala State Coir Machine Manufacturing Company(KSCMMC) Chungam, for a feedback session and interaction with Dr T M Thomas Issaac.
